FAQs

Q:
Previously there was a maximum number of images. Is there a maximum this year?

A:
No. However, the file can be no larger than 6MB, so use your space wisely. Jurors will be viewing your entries on computer screens, and they will also be projected. Please consider this when deciding on number of images vs. image quality.

Q:
Can I enter more than one project?

A:
Yes. However, projects must be entered and paid for individually.

Q:
If more than one architect in my firm worked on a project, do I list the second architect as an "associate"?

A:
No. That category refers to any architect with whom you collaborated outside the submitting firm.

Q:
My project has more architects/consultants/etc. than there are fields in the concealed ID portion of the submission form, where should I credit them?

A: As stated in the instructions on the submission website:
If more space is required to list all contributing Firms and/or Associate Firms/Owners/etc…you may list these on a separate document to be included as the last page of the single PDF file uploaded in the next section (All Concealed ID Forms Upload) with your Copyright and Release Forms. Please type in “See additional list” in the appropriate fields.
To be absolutely clear – this should be included in the concealed ID upload (page 12 of the walkthrough) – not the submission section which will be seen by the judges.

Q:
Are there specific requirements for the content of my PDF upload?

A:
No. You can submit any mix of images, plans, drawings, text, etc. Use your discretion, keeping in mind that the file size limit compels you to consider the balance between image quality and quantity (the whole submission is ONE pdf no larger than 6MB). The 2000 character project description is entered separately from the uploaded portion, though you can include additional text in the upload if you wish.

Q:
How will I know if we've won an award? What is the schedule?

A:
The jury will meet and deliberate on March 5, after having sorted through projects on their own during the weeks preceding. Winners will be notified on the afternoon of March 5 (one reason accurate contact information is essential) and should plan to attend the Jury Symposium at the Center for Architecture at 6pm that evening, where winners will be formally announced.
