Committees
Planning & Urban Design
The Planning & Urban Design Committee is one of the AIA NY Chapter's largest and most active committees with over seventy members. Formerly the Zoning and Urban Design Committee, the Committee was renamed in order to convey the AIA's (and Committee's) role in promoting redevelopment and planning efforts throughout the region. The Committee examines both large issues such as the need to upgrade the mass transportation system to support the City and its growth in the 21st Century and detailed technical issues such as amendments to the City's Zoning Resolution. We work with agencies to review and modify planning initiatives and provide input on public policy decisions.
