Meet the Staff

Benjamin Prosky became Executive Director of the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter (AIANY) and the Center for Architecture in February of 2016. Through the end of 2015, he served as Assistant Dean for Communications at Harvard GSD. Until 2011 he was the Director of Special Events and External Affairs at Columbia University GSAPP. Prosky is also a cofounder of ARCHITIZER.

Cynthia Kracauer, AIA, LEED, has been Managing Director of the Center for Architecture since 2006, following over thirty years of professional practice. She has overall responsibility for the Center and staff, and is happy to help.

Berit produces exhibitions, and related publications, for the Center for Architecture. As part of the Center’s mission, the exhibitions target the general public, design and architecture students of all ages, and the diverse audiences of the built environment community. Eve is responsible for the AIANY’s 27 volunteer program committees. She manages their events and meetings, as well as their budgets. Many of the programs at the Center for Architecture are organized through the these committees. In addition to the program committees she oversees chapter Awards Programs. Eve also coordinates the CES program for our members, and is your resource for questions about your AIA transcript.

Emma coordinates advocacy and policy efforts on behalf of the AIA New York Chapter. As part of its mission, the Chapter promotes design excellence in public and private projects across the city through public testimony, educational programs, and outreach to the design community.

Jose Guerrido: Facilities Manager, AIANY | Center for Architecture

Jose is responsible for custodial and building maintenance for the over 10,000 square feet of the Center for Architecture. He and his staff set up for all events, assist in the installation and de-installation of exhibits, patch and paint the walls, and oversee all outside contractors.
